The irresponsible, antisocial and illegal riding of motorcycles in Luxulyan Valley is a growing problem.

The people responsible are causing damage and putting themselves and others at risk of injury.  The tranquillity of the valley is also disturbed reducing the enjoyment of the valley for the vast majority.

The Police are taking a growing interest, and are building up a body of evidence to enable them to take action against the culprits. To ensure that all illegal activity is recorded please telephone the police on their non-emergency number 101.

Please give as much information as possible including a description of the bikes and riders, details of their clothing, registration numbers, if any, and the time and location of the occurrence.  This should include any sightings of bikes being loaded or unloaded in the car parks.  Photographs would of course be invaluable as evidence but on no account put yourself at risk.  Riders have been known to behave aggressively when challenged.  If you are actually threatened then this, of course, is a much more serious offence and may justify a 999 call.

If any gates have been left open by the motor cyclists then please close them.

Please record and report any instances of vandalism or other nuisance.

Alternatively contact Cornwall Council or their managing agents CORMAC on:

  • General telephone number to report environmental management issues 0300 1234 202 – this number automatically diverts to out of hours cover and if urgent is passed to standby officer.

Please help us to ensure that your enjoyment of the valley is not spoiled by these irresponsible people.
