Walk: Guided walk on Bodmin Moor

Trevithick Society Event A guided walk of about 5 miles, on Bodmin Moor,  with Brian Oldman to look at mining remains at Gold Diggings Quarry and the Cheesering. Approx. 5 hrs.

Take a river cruise as far as Wiseman's Reach, passing Daphne du Maurier's House, Fowey Docks and the mussel farm before heading downstream past Place House, Readymoney Cove and the Blockhouses. £7 per person.

Daniel Gumb was a stone cutter and philosopher who made himself a home from rocks near Cheeswring Quarry. There is a lot more to his story as Brian will show us.

A short presentation on wood carving and turning. This will be followed by hand pot turning. For those who want to have a go, clay and tools will be supplied to make a simple pot. You may want to bring an apron or old tea towel to keep clean.
