Historic Postcard

A Unique chance to own a piece of Luxulyan History

'The Friends of Luxulyan Valley' have been gifted a number of old postcards featuring the Luxulyan Valley and the Treffry Viaduct. This postcard was produced from a series of photographs commissioned by Silvanus Trevail, the famous Architect, in 1902 as part of the celebrations for the installation of the peal of bells at Luxulyan Church.

These photographs were incorporated into a commemorative booklet giving the history of the village, church and valley, along with details concerning the bells and the memorial he designed and erected in the churchyard in memory of his mother, Jane Trevail.

The postcards have remained in the possession of the Trevail family until now, and have been offered to ‘The Friends of Luxulyan Valley’ as a means of raising money for a specific purpose within the valley.

Please note: This is an original postcard over 100 years old. It is not a reproduction.

They are available at our events or by post as below:

They are priced at £5.50 each, including P&P.

Please send a cheque for your postcard(s) payable to ‘The Friends of Luxulyan Valley’ to:

Jim Cleare, St. Cyor's House, Luxulyan, PL30 5EA.
